Morris TriState North becomes Morris Great Lakes
December 1st, 2008
[WINDSOR, CT - December 1, 2008] Morris TriState North, a division of Morris Group, Inc., has changed its name to Morris Great Lakes, according to a company spokesperson. Morris Great Lakes is the exclusive distributor of Okuma and Tsugami machine tools as well as other machine tool lines and related accessories in western New York, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Phil Rugari, President of Morris Great Lakes, says that the new name more closely describes the geographic region encompassing his distributorship's offices in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania and Lancaster, New York, as well as satellite office at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.
The new name also reduces any possible misperception that his region includes portions of New Jersey and Connecticut. The name Morris TriState North originated when Rugari's region was created as a division of Morris Group, Inc. in 2004, along with Morris TriState. Morris TriState will retain its current name and continue to cover the metro New York area, including New York City, Long Island, northern New Jersey and the eastern New York state, up to the Canadian border.
"Our upstate New York locations and proximity to Lake Erie and Lake Ontario are strongly reflected in the new name," stated Rugari of Morris Great Lakes. "It was important to us that prospective customers in the region knew what division of Morris Group, Inc. to contact, if interested in the manufacturer lines that we represent," he added.
