Official Grand Opening of HFO/Midwest Indiana Tech Center and 7th Midwest CNC Educators HTEC Regional Conference

– April 13th & 14th

LEBANON, IN – Midwest manufacturers are invited to attend the Grand Opening of HFO/Midwest’s Indiana Tech Center on Wednesday, April 13th from 10 am to 6 pm. The following day, April 14th, the same facility will play host to the 7th Midwest CNC Educators Regional HTEC (Haas Technical Educational Center) Conference from 8:00 am to 4 pm.

HFO/Midwest’s Indiana Tech Center is centrally located a few miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis and is co-located within Vincennes University’s Gene Haas Training and Education Center, which opened in December. The Tech Center features ample floor space to display and demonstrate up to 8 Haas CNC machine tools. In addition, there are 13 Haas machines on VU’s shop floor. The 22,000 sq.ft. facility also features five classrooms, including a CNC simulator lab and metrology lab featuring Mitutoyo coordinate measuring machines.

“We’re extremely proud of this new facility and the partnership we’ve put together with Vincennes University,” states Dave Tucker, President of HFO/Midwest. “Local manufacturers that visit will see the latest in technology on display, as well as be able to meet and see the next generation of machinists being educated in a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art machinery. This is truly unique and will go a long way toward helping address the needs of Indiana’s manufacturing community”.

During the Grand Opening event, attendees will be treated to several live cutting demonstrations, many of which will be performed by students enrolled at VU. Technology highlights being demonstrated include the lightning fast and compact Haas DM-1 Mill/Drill center, as well as the innovative Haas UMC-750 5-axis Universal Machining Center. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet with a full complement of tooling, accessories and software suppliers, which will be on hand with table top displays.

The following day, April 14th educators and manufacturers from throughout the Midwest are invited to attend the 7th Midwest CNC Educators Regional HTEC Conference. Attendees to the HTEC Conference can take the opportunity to network, share and learn about the latest educational trends in manufacturing. A wide range of presentations will be made by key vendors supporting the HTEC network, including presentations on metal cutting technology, tooling technology and more. There will also be opportunities for instructors to participate in round-table discussions on the NC curriculum updates.

“Savvy manufacturers might want to consider attending this event to not only select their next CNC machine, but to also network with local schools to lay the foundation for hiring future CNC operators” adds Tim Taylor, Sales Manager of HFO/Midwest.
